Join Sir Doni Jaldon in paving the way for a safer, more secure digital future where Filipino talent leads the charge.

Sir Doni Jaldon, a seasoned cybersecurity expert and whitehat hacker, shared his journey in Web3 security with passion and clarity at the “Build on BASE” event in Davao. With a robust background in software development and years of hands-on experience in safeguarding blockchain systems, Sir Doni has become a vocal advocate for increasing Filipino participation in the global Web3 security arena.

"I am a Web3 security researcher. In other words, I'm like what they call a white hat hacker."

He explained how his journey—spanning roles in Ruby on Rails, Elixir, and Golang—helped him transition from traditional software development to the dynamic and challenging world of blockchain security.

His work, which involves auditing smart contracts and identifying vulnerabilities, is essential to protecting decentralized applications from cyber threats. Yet, despite the opportunities available, Sir Doni observed a critical gap: the noticeable underrepresentation of Filipino security researchers on the global stage.

"I've noticed there aren't many Filipino Web3 security researchers yet."

His words carry a sincere invitation to aspiring cybersecurity professionals in the Philippines: the field of Web3 security is not just for experts from abroad—it’s a space where local talent can shine and make a global impact.

Sir Doni passionately described how the proof-of-work in security isn’t measured by academic credentials but by tangible contributions—real-world problem solving that can be seen on blockchain records. He believes that every code commit, every smart contract audit, and every bug bounty earned is a building block for a more secure digital world.

"For those who are interested, who are committed, you want to learn how to become a Web3 white hat hacker, a Web3 security researcher, or a smart contract dev. We can help with that as long as you guys are committed."

This inclusive call to action is designed to break down barriers for those who may not have had a traditional tech background, reinforcing that passion, persistence, and hands-on experience are the keys to success in this evolving field.

Beyond his technical insights, Sir Doni stressed the importance of community and mentorship. He urged Filipino students and professionals alike to take advantage of the growing opportunities in Web3 security. Whether it's through participating in hackathons, joining online audit contests, or simply engaging with experienced peers in local meetups, the path to becoming a skilled security researcher is accessible.

His message is clear: the future of digital security depends on more Filipinos stepping up and contributing their unique perspectives and talents.
